Independence for Scotland

In this post I want to talk about another thing I saw in the news: Scottish Independence. People in Scotland have very different opinions on whether it's a good idea or not. I personally, think it's a very good idea. If I could vote, (at the time of the referendum I will be 15), I think it would be very likely I would vote out of the union, unless something came up which made it not seem such a nice idea.
For some that "something" has already came up. The European governors say that, if the people of Scotland voted for Independence, they would have to ask for a new membership in Europe as they would be classed as a new nation. David Cameron from the Conservative party, and all the other parties apart form the SNP, (Scottish National Party) are using this as another thing to put people off breaking away from Great Britain, but in fact, if the Conservatives got their way, we'd be leaving the European Union soon anyway. Also, if Scotland is classed as a new nation, isn't that the same with England and Wales, they will be too, a new nation, when Scotland isn't there.
David Cameron's party, as I said before, really want to be out of Europe. The reason? They don't want to follow Europe's rules any more. When I first heard that, I thought, "Doesn't that mean they should know how Scotland feels?" But no, they don't look at it that way, even though it's exactly the same case!
I might be wrong, but I have this feeling that Cameron is just enjoying the power over Scotland, well, that's how it's seems anyway. I wish politicians would just listen to each other now and then, they're usually so sure of they're own ideas that they can't be cooperative. In this case though, as I said before, I think Alex Salmond, (leader of SNP), is right, and shouldn't listen to Cameron.
But what do you think? Do you think Independence is a good idea or not? Please tell me what you think by commenting.

Malala Yousafzai

In this post, I want to talk about something I heard on the news: Malala Yousafzai. You've probably heard of her already, as she's very famous now, after she was attacked by the Taliban. I was just really struck by her bravery, how she stood up against the the Taliban, demanding that girls go to school in Pakistan through her blog.
And I'm not the only one who is amazed by her bravery, as she is loved and respected world wide for her rebellion against the Taliban. She has received loads of get well soon cards with encouraging messages from people all over the world. People are absolutely disgusted by the Taliban's actions. They are horrified that they would shoot a 14 year old school girl who just wanted equality and education for girls, and so am I. She was just speaking out and thinking in a more modern way than them, and it was really cruel and horrible of them to do that. I am so glad she is getting better, and hope that she is fully recovered very soon. Do you have anything you'd like to say on this topic? Then please leave a comment, as I'd love to hear your thoughts.
